Machine tool dealers, Macrotec Machine Tools Ltd and computer experts have got together to launch a classified ad site that provides a unique and advanced search facility for the benefit of everybody in our industry. The site is free to search and advertising is low cost without any commission payments.

Findamachine.com arose out of a genuine need. There are now hundreds of sites on the net advertising machines for sale by make and model, but if you are looking for a machine with a specific spec, it is a time consuming and frustrating experience. It’s a bit like trying to find a holiday on the net when all you know is, you want to go somewhere hot in June. Web sites just are not set up that way.

What is more, findamachine.com has an additional feature. We call it “On Patrol”. If you cannot find a machine on the site one day, you simply press the “On Patrol” button and the site continues to monitor itself and sends you an email when a machine matching your chosen criteria comes on the site. You can be as specific or non specific as you like.

How much does it cost?

To advertise on the site, 30 euros for up to 10 machines per month, then 2 euros per month for additional machines. (+ Vat for UK based companies)

What about pictures?

You can upload up to 9 images per machine on to the site at no extra charge.

How do you pay?

In advance by credit or debit card. You can set up a monthly debit system which withdraws the money from your card every month and which you can cancel with 28 days notice at any time.

Can I pay in any other way?

Can I have a link to my own website?

Yes, please contact us on links@findamchine.com. We are offering dealers free links to the site.

How much does it cost to advertise a ‘wanted machine’?

Nothing. And you can keep a track of how many wanted ads you have on the site on the Member’s Home Page.

How do I add and delete machines for sale?

Follow the procedures given below. It is very simple. If you are a machine tool dealer, you can decide on a figure for the number of machines you wish to advertise regularly on the site and then you can add and delete machines at any time without incurring any additional costs. You can easily keep track of the number of machine adverts you have paid for on the Member’s Home Page (shown as ‘allowed’) and the number of ads currently on the site (shown as ‘used’).

What does the ‘On Patrol’ system do?

It works using the matching system which is built into the site. When a ‘machine wanted’ and a ‘machine for sale’ match, the site automatically sends an email. See below for ‘instructions for using the site’.

What if the type of machine I wish to advertise is not currently on the site?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE SITE

ADVERTISING A MACHINE FOR SALE ON FINDAMACHINE.COM

 BEFORE YOU START MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TO HAND:

1. FULL DETAILS ABOUT THE MACHINES
2. CREDIT/DEBIT CARD DETAILS

To advertise machinery on the site, login (top right of home page)

Go to Members Home Page

Select User Menu

Select Add Machinery

Select the type of machine you wish to advertise on the drop down menu. If the type of machine you wish to advertise is not currently on the site, please contact us on support@findamachine.com and we will be glad to help you.

If you are advertising machines for the first time, “My Account” page will open.

Enter the number of adverts you wish to add to the site and the cost will automatically be calculated. For immediate use of the site, payment is by credit card only. Email the site on billing@findamachine.com if you wish to make your payment some other way.

Select Pay and follow the instructions to make your payment.

Return to the site

Select Add Machinery and select the category, sub-category and type of machinery you wish to add.

Then fill in the fields provided. Because of the unique matching feature of the site, you will be required to fill in all fields. This allows users the flexibility to search on any or all fields. Some dealers prefer not to publish prices.The system will permit this, but to save your time and the user’s time, we recommend you include a price. To provide uniformity all prices have to be entered in euros. Click Currency Converter if required. All dimensions have to be entered in metric. Click Metric Converter if required When you have filled in all required fields select Submit.

Follow instructions to check your completed advert.

To upload images, enter the number of images and you wish to upload (between 1and 9) and click Submit, Click where indicated to upload your images. Click Browse, select the images you wish to upload and press Submit. You will then receive a report showing the number of images that have been successfully uploaded and a link to view your new advert details.

The matching feature will identify any ‘machines wanted’ on the site which match your criteria and inform you by email. You can view your matches on the Members Home Page.

TO INCREASE, REDUCE OR CANCEL THE NUMBER OF MACHINE ADVERTS

Log in and select Update Account on the Member‘s Home Page (near to ‘Your Adverts’). Fill in the appropriate boxes at the bottom of My Account page. Contact us on billing@findamachine.com if you have any difficulty.

 ADVERTISING A MACHINE WANTED ON FINDAMACHINE.COM

To add a ‘Wanted Machine’ to the site, first log in, and then select User Menu on the menu bar at the top of the page.

Click on Add a Wanted and select a category, sub-category and type. Then take a look at the fields available. Fill in those fields of greatest importance to you. For example if you a looking for a particular make or model, fill in the relevant text fields. Be as specific as you can to avoid receiving machine matches you would automatically reject. Advertisers are asked to fill in every field except price which is optional. You may leave all the fields blank if your are interested in all machines of a particular category.

Click Submit to add the wanted machine to the site. The matching feature will identify machines advertised on the site which match your criteria and inform you by email. You can view your matches on the Members Home Page.

FINDING A MACHINE –HOW TO USE THE MATCHING FEATURE

 To search the site for machines, first select Machine Adverts from the menu at the top of the page, then choose a category and type of machine. The number displayed indicates how many machines of this type are currently available.

To utilize the matching service, take a look at the different fields available. Click Next to move on to the next search step. Fill in those fields of greatest importance to you. For example if you require a particular make or model, fill in the relevant category. You may be able to find an equivalent machine by entering data in the dimensions categories. For fields of less importance to you enter ‘no preference’ where applicable or leave text boxes empty.

The site automatically identifies how many machines match your criteria., indicated in brackets by each search step. Simply click Display to show current results. You can access the machines available or change your criteria as often as you like.

If you cannot find what you want today, make sure you are logged in, then click On Patrol and the site will take your current search criteria and continue to search for it. When machines matching your criteria become available, you will be alerted by email.

ON PATROL

To access the unique ‘On Patrol’ feature, you must first log in, then select Machine Adverts and choose a category and type of machine. Fill in the fields of greatest importance to you and click On Patrol The site will take your current search criteria and continue to search for it until you delete your criteria. When machines matching your criteria become available, you will be alerted by email. You can view your matches on the Members Home Page.

TO ACCESS YOUR MATCHES

 When a ‘machine wanted’ and a ‘machine for sale’ match, the site automatically sends an email to both parties inviting you to log on to the site. To access your matches go to the Member’s Home Page. You can see the number of matches made since you last logged in as well as the number of matches detected in total. To view the Contact Details continue to press Display on the next pages as the system works through the categories of machines.

You can press the Unwanted Match button to no longer receive information related to that match. Matches will be removed from the site after 1 month to avoid congestion.

TO EDIT OR DELETE ADVERTS (OR ADD ADDITIONAL IMAGES TO YOUR ADVERTS)

 You must be logged in to access the details of your current adverts.

On the User Menu, click Member’s Home

Your Adverts indicates the number of adverts you have currently on the site and the number of adverts you are allowed on your current payment package.

To edit or delete your adverts click Display

You will see instantly the number of times a particular machine spec has been viewed and the number of times a user has requested your contact details.

To edit or delete a machine or to add additional images, click Display again and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page.

TO ACCESS INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUCCESS OF YOUR ADVERTS

You must be logged in to access the details of your current adverts.

On the User Menu, click Member’s Home

Your Adverts indicates the number of adverts you have currently on the site and the number of adverts you are allowed on your current payment package.

To access details of the success of your adverts click Display

You will see instantly the number of times a particular machine spec has been viewed and the number of times a user has requested your contact details.

YOUR WANTEDS

You must be logged in to access the details of your current ‘Wanted Machinery’.

On the User Menu, click Member’s Home

Your Wanteds indicates the number ofwanted machines you have currently on the site.

Click Display to access information about the number of times your wanteds have been viewed and to delete wanted machines. It is not possible to edit a wanted machine, please go to User Menu and select Add a Wanted.
