In 1986, with enthusiasm and aspiration to create a new vision for Taiwan's machinery industry, some young engineers left ITRI, Industrial Technology Research Institute - the core of industrial techonology in Taiwan - to establish Awea Mechantronic Co., Ltd. During the Research Lab. period in ITRI, Mr. Y. C. Kuan, one of the engineers also the founder and the General Manager of Awea, was in charge of the National CNC Machine Tool Development Project. He is the key person to lead Taiwan machine tool industry into CNC era. Having Mr. Kuan's guiding and the innovation and creation spirit from ITRI, all members have devoted to make Awea a professional Bridge Type Machining Center builder.

Awea is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CE certified company; also one of few listed machine tool companies in Taiwan Stock Exchange Market. Based on years of technical background and selling experience, Awea has built a complete managing system through, research and designing, manufacturing, assembling, testing, inspection to sell and servicing. Awea is the Bridge Type Machining Center expert, and "Bridge Brings Performance" represents the image.

In order to provide product variety and comprehensive services to customer, in Year 2000 we built Taichung factory to manufacture C Frame vertical machining center. With the professional technique from bridge experience and strict quality assurance, C frame machines are most welcomed and have had dramatic growth during these years, we therefore build new factory in Central Taiwan Science Park which is 8 times bigger than the old location. The customer's excite feedback also reflects on bridge machine. Hsinchu factory not only have 2 new buildings to offer more capacity, but also developed new category such like high speed bridge machine, gantry type bridge machine, 5-axis bridge machine and horizontal boring machine.

Starting from zero, Awea people have been keeping the inspiration toward machine tools and making every effort
to have Awea like nowadays.We commit ourselves the job for customers - the continuing growth to bring more products and better service, and become the world class and marketing oriented CNC machine tool manufacturer.
