MIYANO

Miyano was established in 1929 as a manufacturer of precision industrial files located in Kameido, in Tokyo's Koto-ku. After World War II, Miyano moved to Nagano Prefecture and began manufacturing flint wheels for cigarette lighters. The company made its own automatic lathes to process the raw material for its flint wheels, and this eventually led Miyano to start manufacturing machine tools. Miyano developed a variety of automatic lathes, including cam-operated lathes, hydraulically operated lathes, and multi-spindle lathes, providing the foundation that has now made Miyano the world's leading manufacturer of CNC lathes.
